DIEC2 APP
The Dictionary of the Catalan language of the Institut d’Estudis Catalans (DIEC) is the reference work that establishes the lexical regulations of the Catalan language. Since its publication in April 2007, the second edition of the DIEC (DIEC2) has been the subject of several updates. Through this application, the Institute makes available to s the complete and most current version of the work, which periodically incorporates the amendments that are approved.

The Institut d’Estudis Catalans is an academic, scientific and cultural corporation that aims at high scientific research and mainly that of all the elements of Catalan culture. The Institute’s own language is Catalan and its officially recognized field of action extends to the lands of Catalan language and culture. Its function as a language academy was recognized in 1991 by Law 8/1991, of 3 May, according to which the Institute is responsible for establishing and updating the linguistic regulations of Catalan.
